Günter Kochan

Günter Kochan (2 October 1930 – 22 February 2009) was a German classical composer. His compositions include cantatas, film scores, orchestral music, songs, symphonies and music for radio dramas.
== Life and career ==
Kochan was born in Luckau, in the Province of Brandenburg, on 2 October 1930. He attended the in Charlottenburg beginning in 1946, and subsequently studied at the ドイツ語:Deutsche Hochschule für Musik in East Berlin, East Germany, where he was a of Hanns Eisler.〔
Kochan was inducted into the East German in 1965 and, from 1977 to 1982, served as Vice President of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of the GDR. He was four times recipient of the National Prize of the German Democratic Republic.〔
Kochan died in Neuruppin on 22 February 2009, aged 78, following a long illness. He was survived by his wife of 56 years.〔
